St. Paul, Minn. - Tonight on a vote of 73-54, the Minnesota House passed SF1, a bill to create a health insurance subsidy program for those on the individual market who have seen premiums increase in the neighborhood of 60 percent.
Rep. Ben Lien (DFL – Moorhead) released the following statement:
"I'm pleased the House took action on health insurance relief for Minnesotans who buy plans on the individual health insurance market. The passage of the relief and reform bill is the first step to getting help out to people across the state.
"It's unfortunate this bill has taken this long to move through the Legislature. I hope a final plan between the House, Senate and Governor comes soon to get help out to people this year."
