I will share the survey results with you soon!

Child Protection Legislation

On Tuesday in the Public Safety Committee, they heard my child protection bill, HF 503. This legislation, which has bipartisan support, would establish a grant program within the Department of Public Safety to set up Child Advocacy Centers. These centers would help coordinate the investigation, treatment and management of child and vulnerable adult abuse cases. It would also provide assistance to abuse victims with mental health support, specialized medical exams and a number of other programs.

Children are vulnerable and too often victims of abuse in Minnesota. My bill is about ensuring victims have access to the care they need at Child Advocacy Centers, and also about making certain that law enforcement have the necessary tools to properly investigate abuse cases and convict predators of children and vulnerable adults.
