ST. PAUL – State Rep. Jerry Hertaus, R-Greenfield, performed his fifth oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday as the 92nd Legislature was installed at the Capitol.

Hertaus was re-elected to the House in November. He represents District 33A in western Hennepin County, encompassing the cities of Independence, Medina, Maple Plain, St. Bonifacius, Loretto, Wayzata, Minnetrista, Corcoran, Long Lake, Orono and Greenfield.

“It’s good to be back in session, working on the issues and serving on behalf of the people in District 33A,” Hertaus said. “The swearing-in process always is a humbling experience and I once again felt a deep sense of gratitude as I participated in the ceremony. I am honored the people of this area once again have placed their trust in me to serve as their voice in the House and look forward addressing the challenges we face this session.”

Hertaus recently was selected as the lead Republican on the House Property and Local Tax Division in addition to posts on Ways & Means and Taxes committees.

Hertaus said he welcomes correspondence from citizens in District 33A throughout the session. They are encouraged to contact him by calling (651) 296-9188 or by emailing rep.jerry.hertaus@house.mn. Hertaus also provides periodic email updates and citizens can sign up to receive them at his official state website: www.house.mn/33A

Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony was conducted with many House members participating remotely from their legislative offices, instead of in the chamber as is tradition, as a COVID-19 precaution.
