ST. PAUL – The 2020 legislative session began Tuesday and Rep. Jerry Hertaus, R-Greenfield, said it’s good to be back at the Capitol to take on the issues at hand.
“Their always seems to be optimism in the air when the new session begins and, although our challenges are many, we once again return to the Capitol eager to do the good work Minnesotans deserve,” Hertaus said. “This includes making wise decisions related to the state’s projected $1.3 billion surplus, although that figure likely will change when the February economic forecast provides us with an official set of numbers by which to act this session.
“Those figures may impact the direction this session takes in numerous ways, but our top priorities shall remain to re-examine our state’s tax rates and policies and find solutions for reducing high health care costs.”
Hertaus said he welcomes correspondence throughout the session and encourages District 33A residents to call (651) 296-9188 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to get in touch with him.
