Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Sharon and I wish you and your family a blessed Easter holiday. Here's hoping you are able to spend extra time in the company of friends and loved ones this weekend.
Please be safe if you travel, especially along Highway 12 in the west metro and beyond. I want to thank people in our local communities for the continued support they are providing as we work to make that stretch of road safer.
Legislation has been introduced to make improvements through realigning hazardous intersections and extending safety dividers. Senator Osmek presented the companion to my bill in a Senate committee on Monday and the House has scheduled a hearing before its Transportation Policy and Finance Committee 5 p.m. this coming Wednesday.
This is all part of the process as we take the necessary steps to keep legislation moving in hopes of providing funding for Highway 12 in a final transportation package.
A number of media outlets have provided recent coverage of this subject. Click here for an article the Sun Sailor recently published with more about this issue of regional significance and transportation in general.
Look for additional information as this legislation moves through the process. Your input is welcome and, until next time, enjoy your weekend.
