Local nursing homes receive $546,321 in new state funding

Golden Valley, MN – State Representative Mike Freiberg (DFL-Golden Valley) announced that on Aug. 1, 2 local nursing homes received significant amounts of new state funding as part of a bipartisan agreement to stabilize a sector of the economy that is facing financial hardship.

“When we were heading into this year’s legislative session, we knew helping our nursing homes had to be prioritized,” said Rep. Freiberg. “I'm incredibly proud to say that under DFL leadership, the Legislature appropriated record amounts of funding for our state’s nursing homes and care facilities. I’m even more proud to have brought some of the funds back home to Golden Valley, where it will help our friends, families, and neighbors in these facilities.”

Of these initial investments, a total of $546,321 has been delivered to 2 nursing homes in District 43B on Aug. 1. Both nursing homes will receive another significant one-time payment of the same amount on Aug. 1, 2024, totaling over $1 million for the biennium. Local facilities benefiting from the funds include:

$224,962 to Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Golden Valley

$321,359 to the Villa at Brookview in Golden Valley
