Legislative Update - Tomorrow's Virtual Town Hall

Friday, April 9, 2021

Rep. Freiberg

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you’re able to join us tomorrow at 11am for our latest District 45 Town Hall. We’ll be hosting the event on Zoom, and you can access the call by using the login information below:

We’ve got a lot to discuss as we prepare for the latter half of session. Just this week, we rolled out our budget proposals in the Minnesota House, which provide significant ongoing investments in education, prioritize economic assistance to those most impacted by COVID-19, and ask big corporations and the wealthiest to pay their fair as Minnesota prepares to not only bounce back, but thrive.

Vaccine Eligibility

The eligibility for vaccines recently expanded to those age 16 and older in response to the increased supply arriving in Minnesota this month, and Governor Walz announced this week more than three million COVID-19 vaccines have been administered!

If you haven’t received your vaccination, take a look at Minnesota’s Vaccine Connector, call 833-431-2053, or check with your health insurance carrier to help you find out when, where, and how to get a vaccine. Many folks have also had success by looking for available times at local (and sometimes not-so-local) pharmacies online.

Stay Connected

Last night, I was a guest on the PBS program Your Legislators, which brings lawmakers from both sides of the aisle together to discuss the issues facing our state. We discussed a range of issues from the budget to daylight saving time! You can watch the show here

The latter half of session will be filled with passing our budget bills off the House floor and then engaging in negotiations with the Republican-controlled Senate. You can contact me at rep.mike.freiberg@house.mn and at (651) 296-4176 (E-mail is preferred) with any questions or comments you may have on our work. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Mike Freiberg

State Representative
