Yesterday, the House and Senate proposed funding education at a level that only covers inflation and other rising costs. Unfortunately, they did not provide enough funding for the per pupil formula or for pre-school education programs, even though more than a billion dollars is available. This morning, Governor Dayton made it clear in a press conference warning lawmakers that he would veto any education bill that under-funds K-12 education and pre-kindergarten programs. I agree with Governor Dayton that a strong education system is worth fighting for.
I signed a letter supporting Governor Dayton while he pushes for adequate education funding. If you want to see the letter click on the link here.
