ST. PAUL – Minnesota’s 2020 legislative session began Tuesday and Rep. Steve Green, R-Fosston, said it’s good to be back at the Capitol working on behalf of District 2B residents.
“Tax relief is a big thing we should be working on this year,” Green said. “The two-year budget is set, the rainy day fund is full and the state has $1.3 billion in over-collected tax dollars. Our state is one of the nation’s least tax-friendly states for retirees and we should repeal our state tax on Social Security.
“Aside from that, I also will be focusing heavily on protecting our Second Amendment rights and will be pushing back against attempts to advance extreme regulatory burdens on projects such as the Line 3 pipeline project.”
Green said he welcomes correspondence throughout the session and encourages District 2B residents to call (651) 296-9918 or email rep.steve.green@house.mn to get in touch.
