Legislative Update (11-22-19)

Friday, November 22, 2019

Neighbor,

House Democrats have had their feet in cement as our state’s largest agency remains in total chaos, failing to help provide answers to taxpayers regarding extensive waste, fraud, abuse and staff turmoil at the Department of Human Services.

The good news is a House committee hearing has now been set for Dec. 2 in St. Paul to examine DHS. While the hearing may not go as far as to discuss the complete, top-to-bottom overhaul this agency needs, there is an opportunity for this meeting to be productive in terms of providing those answers taxpayers deserve.

We’ll see what happens and I will follow up if/when there is anything to report after the hearing.

On a quick Line 3 note, click here for an interesting article on anti-pipeline groups that are now spreading fake news in a last-ditch effort to derail the pipeline project. They have run out of legitimate ways to challenge a project, so now they are resorting to hoaxes and fake stories to twist the narrative.
