This August marks the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. While there is much to celebrate, Americans still face many barriers to voting.
Steve Simon, our Secretary of State, will be hosting an event at the Harrison Neighborhood Association in North Minneapolis on August 6 to discuss today’s struggle to expand voter rights and talk about injustices in the voting system. RSVP for this event.
Together we can energize our communities to get involved and VOTE. Every voice counts.
Come for an evening of learning, storytelling, and performance art, and an opportunity to get involved with dozens of nonprofit, faith, business, and community partners at the event. The event is free, open to the public, and we hope to see you there!
