ALBRIGHT MINIMUM WAGE BILL PASSES AS A PART OF JOB GROWTH AND ENERGY AFFORDABILITY OMNIBUS BILL

Wednesday, April 22, 2015
ST. PAUL – Legislation authored by Rep. Tony Albright (R-Prior Lake) that would create a uniform state minimum wage (HF1241) passed the House floor on Wednesday, April 22 as a part of the Job Growth and Energy Affordability omnibus bill.

“Minnesota businesses deserve stability and uniformity in minimum wage laws statewide,” said Albright. “Giving municipalities the permission to raise or lower the minimum wage for businesses in their district impact the ability of multi-site businesses to implement uniform staffing procedures. A uniform state minimum wage is necessary to reduce paperwork burdens on multi-site businesses and ensure the ability of our businesses statewide to attract top talent.”

The Job Growth and Energy Affordability omnibus bill passed 73-56.
