St. Paul, MINN.—State Rep. Duane Quam, R-Byron, today was appointed Vice Chair of the Minnesota House Property Tax and Local Government Finance Division Committee.
As Vice Chair of this committee, Quam will oversee statewide property tax rates and Local Government Aid distribution to cities and counties.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve the people of Minnesota in this leadership role,” said Quam. “I look forward to protecting the rights and pocketbooks of property owners across the state and working with local units of government to bring them long due stability when it comes to promises made by the state government.”
Quam was recently re-elected to serve a third term in the Minnesota House. He will assume his new leadership role when the 2015 legislative session begins on Tuesday, January 6.
