Whoever first said “the world belongs to those who show up” could have been referring to precinct caucuses.
This year’s caucuses are Tuesday, Feb. 7. This is where people can get involved and have their voice heard on important issues that affect all of us. Precinct caucuses are the ground level of politics where you can help shape policies national, state and local levels. You also can have say in electing local leaders or run for positions yourself.
If you have not previously participated in precinct caucuses, I encourage you to become active during this crucial point. We face significant challenges on a variety of levels and a wide range of input will help us in the long run. If you are a veteran of precinct caucuses, I thank you for your participation and urge you to attend again this time.
You can use the Caucus Finder on the Secretary of State’s website to determine your meeting location. This is a time for all of us to be active in shaping our future and I hope you can attend your caucus meeting Tuesday.
