McDonald takes oath of office

Tuesday, January 03, 2017

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Joe McDonald, R-Delano, took the oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives for a fourth time Tuesday as the 90th Legislature convened at the Capitol to begin the 2017 session.

McDonald was re-elected in November to represent District 29A in Wright and Hennepin counties. He is serving as vice chairman for the Taxes Committee this biennium, in addition to positions on Health and Human Services Reform, Transportation and Regional Governance Policy, and Aging and Long Term Care panels.

“I’ve been eager for the session to start so we can get down to business on the issues people in our area are most concerned about,” McDonald said. “We have spent months talking about priorities such as providing tax relief, getting a grip on soaring health care costs and fixing our roads and bridges. It is exciting that now we are back at the Capitol working on legislation to make those things happen.”

McDonald said constituent outreach remains a primary focus of his public service. He welcomes constituents to call his legislative office at (651) 296-4336 or email rep.joe.mcdonald@house.mn to provide input or set up an appointment. McDonald also sends periodic email updates with the latest information and his personal insight from St. Paul. You can sign up to receive them at www.house.mn/29a.
