I want to thank everyone who joined the United Black Legislative Caucus this past Saturday for our Town Hall Meeting about the pandemic’s impact on Black Minnesotans. It was a powerful, informative discussion and I particularly want to thank Shirlynn LaChapelle, R.N. and Dr. Jennifer Hines for their participation in the event. You’re invited to join the UBLC once again tomorrow, Saturday, January 29 from 1-3 p.m. for a Conversation on Education, Housing, and Public Safety.
We have an impressive group of experts scheduled to join us to discuss these important issues, including:
- Bernadeia Johnson, faculty at Minnesota State Mankato and former Minneapolis Public Schools superintendent
- Kizzy Downie, Model Cities
- Commissioner John Harrington, Minnesota Department of Public Safety
- Suwana Kirkland, Vice Chair of the National Black Police Association
