SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Representative Rena Moran (DFL – Saint Paul) issued the following statement:
“Since last Memorial Day, our community, our state, and our nation have had to withstand unthinkable trauma and grief. Today, I can breathe as a Black woman and as a Black mother. Justice has been served!
“George Floyd’s life mattered. Public safety in Minnesota must recognize the human dignity of every single person. Our communities cannot be forced to withstand this injustice and trauma over and over again. Police reform and accountability has to continue to be a part of our legislative work. It’s up to us – all of us – to take the action necessary to ensure the cycle of Black men being taken from us by law enforcement can end.”
