Legislative Update - December 22, 2016

Thursday, December 22, 2016

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you all enjoy a warm and happy holiday, and that you and your family, friends, and neighbors are finding time to be with one another during this special season. As we look forward to the new legislative session in January, I have a few quick updates.

Listening to You

It is an honor and a privilege for me to continue being your voice at the Legislature, and I appreciated the continued support of our community on Election Day. Now that the dust has settled and the results of the election are final, our elected leaders have a duty to govern, and I’m committed to uphold that duty to serve you.

I’m always seeking input and trying to bring good ideas from our neighborhoods to be implemented at the Capitol. Please contact me with questions or concerns on any legislative issue at 651-296-5158 or rep.rena.moran@house.mn .

Leadership Role

I am pleased to share with you that I have been chosen to be a Deputy Minority Leader with our new DFL leader in the House, Melissa Hortman. I’m honored to bring your voices to the table during this important time at the legislature.

Committee Assignments

The Legislative Session is set to begin on January 3rd and committee assignments were just announced. I will be serving on the Education Finance Committee, the Health & Human Services Reform Committee and the Job Growth & Energy Affordability Policy and Finance Committee. I am looking forward to my work in these important issue areas. We need to work together to promote and pass good policy that emphasizes equity and solutions for everyone in our community.

You can always contact me on any issue, and again, I wish you and your family a happy holiday season and a merry Christmas!

Together, we are stronger!

Sincerely,

Rena Moran

State Representative
