This week I joined my colleagues in unanimously approving $20 million in tax relief for Minnesota families through what's known as tax conformity.
By conforming Minnesota's tax code to the federal code, Minnesota families will be able to keep more money in their pockets through deductions as people begin to file their taxes.
College students, teachers, and homeowners will be able to take advantage of these deductions once the bill is passed by the Senate and signed by the Governor.
Highway 212 Bill
This week I introduced House File 80, a bill to expand a portion of Highway 212 from two to four lanes between County Road 11 and County Road 43 in Carver County. I also plan to introduce legislation to expand the entire portion of Highway 212 between Cologne and Chaska to four lanes.
Highway 212 is a route that many residents here in our district take on a daily basis to get to work or visit the Twin Cities. Businesses from our area transport goods and services as well. Expanding Highway 212 is a key priority for our area, and I will continue pushing for it as session continues and the legislature continues various transportation projects.
