ST. PAUL — State Representative Glenn Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe, issued the following statement regarding Governor Walz's announcement lifting the state's Stay at Home order effective Monday, May 18th, and laying out plans to allow the reopening of restaurants, churches, and other businesses in the coming weeks.
“Governor Walz’s announcement is good news for thousands of Minnesota businesses and employees that will be able to return to work on Monday. While this is a step in the right direction, I am concerned that the Governor’s announcement does not go far enough and arbitrarily forces some businesses to remain closed including restaurants and salons. Ultimately if a business can openly safely, they should be allowed to do so. It’s time for Governor Walz to trust Minnesotans to care for themselves and their neighbors.”
