Legislative Update from Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen

Thursday, July 19, 2018

Dear Neighbors,

Earlier this month powerful storms swept across the state causing damage in a number of counties. Because of the damage from these storms, Governor Dayton declared a state of emergency in 36 counties in the mainly central and north central parts of the state. Sibley County was included in the governor’s declaration.

I am encouraging farmers that were affected by these storms to take advantage of the Disaster Recovery Loan Program through the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA). These zero-percent loans will be available to assist farmers with flood-related clean-up, repair, and replacement costs that are not covered by insurance. The program is administered through the Minnesota Rural Finance Authority, which is funded by the legislature.

If you’re interested in applying for one of these loans or want to see if you’re eligible, I encourage you to contact the Rural Finance Authority by calling 651-201-6004, or by visiting www.mda.state.mn.us/agfinance.

Finally, due to rules from the Campaign Finance Board, this will be my final email update until November. Regardless, if you have any questions or concerns regarding state government please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by phone at 651-296-4229 or via email at rep.glenn.gruenhagen@house.mn.

Have a great weekend,

Glenn
