News from Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen 7-22-216

Friday, July 22, 2016

Dear Friends,

As we pass the halfway point in our Minnesota summer, I’d like to share some good news. In the last couple of weeks, negotiations between House Republican leadership, the Senate Democrats, and Governor Dayton seem to have taken a positive turn. Right now I am optimistic that we will have a special session in the near future to pass our bonding and transportation proposal, as well as our bipartisan tax bill.

It is so very important for the financial health and general wellbeing of our state that we pass transportation funding and tax relief for our citizens. It is shameful that Governor Dayton has delayed these essential provisions in hopes of wasting more taxpayer money on his $500 million list of spending demands. I do hope he has come to his senses, and will agree to pass our original, bipartisan agreements with minimal changes.

This will be my last email update for a while due to a Campaign Finance Board rule. Regardless, please continue to contact my office with any questions or comments; I continue to value your input.

Lastly, attached is my session wrap up, which contains information about the reforms that were introduced in the last two sessions, including measure I chief authored and advocated for.

Glenn
