FRANSON STATEMENT ON REOPENING OF MINNESOTA GOLF COURSES

ST. PAUL – Governor Walz announced today that he will be allowing some sectors of Minnesota’s economy to get back to work effective Saturday morning. Included among those businesses allowed to reopen are Minnesota’s golf courses. Representative Mary Franson, R-Alexandria, released the following statement regarding the announcement.

“I am glad Governor Walz is listening to Minnesotans and beginning to open up the economy,” said Franson. “Our golf courses are a huge part of our local economy, and they employ many people in our community who are eager to go back to work. They also represent a great way to get people outside and exercising, while practicing social distancing. I commend the governor on this decision and I hope he will continue to allow businesses that can operate while ensuring the safety of their employees and customers.”

The full list of businesses that will be allowed to reopen can be found in the executive order here.
