St. Paul- Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner, Jim Schowalter, released Minnesota’s monthly review for revenue showing year to date receipts are $95 million less than forecast. This is the fourth straight month where revenues have come in below forecast.
“It is disturbing to see this revenue trend continue. Governor Dayton and Democrats have committed Minnesota taxpayers to historic spending increases and ignored early warning signs. These early indications show Minnesota’s economy is not responding favorably to Democrats’ policies of increasing taxes and wasteful spending. Republicans urged them to exercise caution and take a balanced approach, instead Democrats chose to waste tax dollars on a $90 million office building and pay raises for politicians,” said Republican Leader Kurt Daudt (Crown).
