ST. PAUL, MN—House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, issued the following statement regarding tax increase proposals from the House DFL.
"With the release of today's tax bill, Democrats are now proposing more than $12 billion in new taxes on Minnesotans over the next four years, including harmful tax increases on health care, gas, and so much more," Daudt said. "With a $1 billion budget surplus these astronomical tax hikes are unnecessary and will wreak havoc on Minnesota family budgets."
The DFL tax bill would raise more than $4 billion in taxes over the next four years. Democrats are also proposing more than $8 billion in tax increases for transportation, paid leave, and by reinstating the provider tax.
