Legislative Update (September 29, 2017)

Friday, September 29, 2017

Dear Neighbors,

I want to wish good luck to all the runners taking part in the Twin Cities Marathon events this weekend! Whether you’re running the 5K or the full marathon, good luck, and stay safe!

Veterans Event

Last night, I attended a rally for homeless veterans. The goal of the event is to try and kickoff the conversion of the three historic cottages at the old state hospital site in Anoka. Once refurbished, these cabins would be used to house homeless veterans. The restoration of these cottages will be exclusively volunteer-based. If you're interested in how you can help, here's a link to more information on the project.

House Image

We owe our men and women in uniform so much for their faithful service to our country, and I see this as one way we can say thank you.

Upcoming Opportunity

Next Saturday, the city of Coon Rapids is hosting a “Fix It Clinic” at the Public Works Building. The event is October 7 from 10am-1pm and volunteers will help attendees fix broken household items like appliances and electronics. This is a free event, and a great opportunity to learn something new AND save some of your old things! Here’s a link to more information.

Please Contact Me

As always, I’m interested in your feedback. Please feel free to contact me by email at rep.peggy.scott@house.mn or call my office at 651-296-4231. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Sincerely,

Peggy
