With the end of the year fast approaching, I would like to reach out to those of you who may have questions about how to apply for health care coverage for next year.
If your coverage is ending and/or you need to purchase insurance through the MNsure exchange, the deadline for applications has been extended to Monday, December 31, 2013, for coverage to begin January 1, 2014.
Individuals can continue to apply for coverage during the open enrollment period that extends to March 31, 2014.
I understand many are experiencing frustrating technical challenges while trying to sign up for MNsure, including long wait times on the phone and website malfunction. I, too share your frustration with these issues and delays.
You can learn more about your health insurance options and purchase a plan by going online at www.mnsure.org.
You can contact MNsure staff by calling its toll-free line at 1-855-366-7873 (1-855-3MNSURE) or emailing gethelp@mnsure.org. Staff is available Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
