ST. PAUL – The city of Villard has been approved to receive a $250,000 grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to assist with the reconstruction of Grove Lake Avenue.
The project is designed to improve access to Massman Automation Designs and provide opportunities for further economic growth in that area by converting a gravel road to a paved surface with traffic markings and signage.
"This is good news for Villard and Pope County," Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Starbuck said. "This will improve a street around a growing business and could bring additional places of employment to that stretch. Congratulations to those involved in successfully earning this grant funding."
The grant Villard will receive is through DEED's Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure Program.
