ANDERSON TAKES HOUSE OATH

Tuesday, January 8, 2013

ST. PAUL – Rep. Paul Anderson took his third oath of office to serve in the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday at the Capitol.

The Republican farmer from Starbuck is responsible for serving on two agriculture-related committees this biennium, in addition to sitting on the Housing Finance and Policy Committee.

Anderson has carved a niche as an advocate for Greater Minnesota during his first two terms in the Legislature.

“One of my top areas of focus will continue to be ensuring issues which impact District 12B and Greater Minnesota in general are heard at the Capitol,” Anderson said. “Leadership at the Capitol is strongly tilted toward the metro area. For example, it concerns me greatly that decisions pertaining to agriculture finance and regulations will be made by a committee chair from Minneapolis. We tried to rectify this situation on Day 1 of the session, but it was not approved.”

Anderson welcomes input from local citizens throughout the year, particularly during the legislative session. You can reach him by emailing rep.paul.anderson@house.mn, or by calling (651) 296-4317.
