Legislative update

Thursday, January 10, 2019

Dear Neighbor,

The Legislature is up and running for the 2019 session after we participated in Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol.

It’s good to be back in St. Paul working on the issues and serving on behalf of the people in District 12B. Swearing-in day always is a humbling experience and I once again felt a deep sense of gratitude as I participated in the ceremony.

There is a lot of work to do this session and I am pleased to have been selected as the lead Republican on the House’s Greater Minnesota Jobs and Economic Development and Finance Division. This will allow me to work closely with a wide variety of issues that impact people in rural Minnesota, including our own District 12B.

I also am serving on the Agriculture and Food Finance and Policy, and Environment and Natural Resources Policy committees in the House. These committees are good fits for me as well and I look forward to participating in discussions on these matters.

Look for email updates from me more frequently now that the session has begun. Also, I will begin submitting my weekly columns to newspapers in our district starting this coming Monday, so please check local publications for those. I try to provide unique perspectives in my columns and bring the issues home so people understand the impacts here.

Your input is welcome throughout the year and especially during the legislative session. Email me at rep.paul.anderson@house.mn or by calling (651) 296-4317 to pass along thoughts, ideas or questions. Also, feel free to set up an appointment at my legislative office if you are going to be in St. Paul.

Sincerely,

Paul
