State Representative Steve Drazkowski (R-Mazeppa) issued the following statement after the Supreme Court’s Burwell v. Hobby Lobby and Harris v. Quinn rulings:
“Today the U.S. Supreme Court issued two rulings that protected Minnesotans from recent assaults on the First Amendment by President Obama, Governor Dayton, and Minnesota Democrats. Government should never approve laws or issue executive decisions that disregard the liberties of an individual or business. Both Obamacare’s contraception mandate and the forced unionization of private daycare and personal care assistant businesses are unconstitutional and clearly ignored this principle. I’m pleased a course correction was issued today by our high court.”
