HOUSE REPUBLICANS BRING JOB CREATORS TO CAPITOL FOR STATE OF THE STATE

Rep. Bob Dettmer Extended Ceremonial Invitation to O.J. Rinehart (Interstate Companies)

St. Paul – As part of the governor’s annual report to the legislature, House Republicans invited dozens of Minnesota’s top job creators to join them in the House chamber for the speech. Members are traditionally allotted an extra ticket to bring a family member, friend, or important official from their district. GOP lawmakers opted to invite local business owners from their districts as part of their effort to prioritize growing Minnesota’s economy.

Rep. Bob Dettmer (R-Forest Lake) was joined on the House floor by O.J. Rinehart, President and CEO of Interstate Companies. Dettmer extended the invitation to Rinehart because of their local economic impact in the Forest Lake area. Rinehart and other small business owners took part in a roundtable discussion on job creation with Rep. Dettmer and House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt before the State of the State address.

“Getting Minnesotans back to work and creating good jobs for the future is a key priority for me at the Capitol this session and Interstate Companies exemplifies the type of businesses we want to encourage with our policies,” said Dettmer. “I am honored to join my colleagues in bringing these important community leaders to St. Paul and proud to support their work to power our economic engine into the future.”

Interstate Companies is a leading service provider to Minnesota’s outdoor maintenance industry. Headquartered in Forest Lake, Interstate employs hundreds in Minnesota and operates Minnesota’s largest company-owned snow and de-icing fleet of equipment.

Rep. Bob Dettmer is a fourth-term legislator from Forest Lake and has chief authored legislation in the 2013 session to create jobs through small business tax preparation credits (HF 67) and a bill to exempt retired military pensions from state taxation (HF 60).
