Legislative Update from Rep. Bob Dettmer

Friday, February 14, 2020

Hello from the State Capitol,

Week 1 of the 2020 session is in the books. Once again, it is a tremendous privilege to serve as your state representative.

During our "opening day" floor session on the House floor, we honored the three fallen soldiers who died in December following a helicopter crash near Kimball. It was a fitting tribute to those National Guardsmen who gave their lives while serving our community and our nation.

Already talks have begun on what to do with our projected $1.3 billion budget surplus. On this topic I've been very clear - use it for tax relief. This is money that belongs to the taxpayers, as they are the ones who created the surplus in the first place by paying too much to their state government.

Please let me know if you ever have any legislative questions or comments. You can reach me anytime by email at rep.bob.dettmer@house.mn or by phone at 651-296-4124.

On Wednesday I was pleased to be the guest speaker at the Forest Lake Chamber Breakfast.

I was also pleased to address o group of students sponsored by the MCCL on my role as a pro-life legislator.

Sincerely,

Bob
