Final Stretch of Session

Monday, April 25, 2022

Dear Neighbors,

I hope you all had a great weekend! Last week, the Legislature returned from our mid-session break and will begin to pass more bills off of the House floor as we head into the final stretch. Right now various budget bills are working their way through the Ways and Means committee as they are set to conform to our larger budget targets. Today we will be voting on Housing, Agriculture, Broadband, and Legacy legislation. I'll be sure to keep you informed of what we accomplish and how we are putting the average Minnesotan first!

Earth Day

Last Friday was Earth Day! While we are continuing to make progress across the globe to reduce our carbon footprint and clean up pollution, we still have much more to accomplish. Here is some more information on this important day and 10 ways you can make a difference!

House DFL lawmakers are committed to protecting the environment. We are ensuring Minnesota is leading the transition to a clean energy economy. That is why the climate and energy bill invests in new energy technology start-ups and advancements in creating tomorrow’s energy grid. Minnesota is already the fastest changing climate compared to the rest of the country and it is impacting our health, our farms, and our infrastructure.

Free Park Day

This past Saturday was free state park day in Minnesota! On four days in 2022, all 75 Minnesota state parks and state recreation areas will offer free admission to everyone. If you missed the free day this past weekend here are the dates for the rest of the year:

  • Saturday, February 19
  • Saturday, April 23
  • Saturday, June 11
  • Friday, November 25

Minnesota state parks are open year-round, and there's a state park within 30 miles of most Minnesotans. With a free day in each season, it's a great opportunity to get out there and explore someplace new - or visit an old favorite at a new time of year! Whether you stay for the whole weekend or just spend a few hours outside, you'll make memories that will last a lifetime.
