First, I’d like to wish you happy and safe Fourth of July! I hope you have a chance to get out and celebrate our independence with family, friends, neighbors and our community.
Eagan July 4th Funfest
The Eagan July 4th Funfest is a great opportunity for families to get out and spend time with your neighbors celebrating the Fourth of July. The Festival Grounds are open starting on Friday afternoon and running through Saturday night. Monday night, the Funfest Ambassadors will be coordinated at the Eagan Community Center.
Bring your family for the parade, entertainment, carnival rides, and other fun! More information can be found at the Eagan 4th of July Funfest. I look forward to seeing you along the parade route!
Laws Taking Effect Today
July 1 and August 1 are the two days that most of laws passed by the legislature take effect. As of today, nursing homes and senior centers are allowed to hold bingo tournaments more than twice a week; rideshare drivers using popular applications like Uber and Lyft will need more insurance coverage; some nonprofit organizations will be exempt from being licensed as childcare providers; there is additional support for domestic abuse victims; medical marijuana for the seriously ill became available; and, money to combat terrorist recruitment was made available.
