SAINT PAUL, MN – Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL-South Saint Paul) released the following statement regarding Senator Katie Sieben’s announcement that she is retiring from the Minnesota Senate after her current term:
"I would like to thank my friend, Senator Katie Sieben, for her years of service to our community and to the state of Minnesota. Her retirement is a huge loss for all of Dakota County. Simply put, without her work, the new Hastings Bridge wouldn’t have become a reality as soon as it did. Yet again, the Minnesota Legislature is losing another talented leader. Minnesotans need to ask themselves why talented legislators like Katie Sieben keep leaving the Minnesota Legislature. I will miss her intelligence and passion at the Minnesota Legislature and I wish her well in whatever the future holds. I look forward to working with her on important projects in her last session.”
