Congratulations to Litchfield native and current NFL tight end John Carlson for being named Man of the Year by the Seattle Seahawks for his off-the-field contributions within the community.
Those who know Carlson probably are not surprised to learn he has been very active in community outreach programs in Seattle; he has contributed to charities in the Litchfield area as well and is known as a character guy.
The Man of the Year award is impressive because our communities are only as strong as the people who live in them. Carlson has done well to use his visibility as a football star to make Seattle a better place. Now let's hope his shoulder heals so he can get back on the field and make an impact there as well!
