Urdahl takes ninth oath of office

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Acton Township, performed his ninth oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday as the 91st Legislature was sworn in at the Capitol.

Urdahl was re-elected to the House in November and represents District 18A, encompassing most of Meeker County and portions of McLeod and Wright. He recently was selected as the lead Republican on the House Capital Investment Division, in addition to serving Education Policy and Legacy committees.

“The start of a new session is an exciting time as we turn the page from discussing ideas to beginning the legislative process and formally addressing the issues we face,” Urdahl said. “Our main job this session will be to draft a new two-year state budget. Along the way, a top priority of mine will be to work on bills to help us overcome some of the significant challenges we face in Greater Minnesota, including everything from high health care costs to a lack of workforce housing, a shortage of childcare providers, a skills gap in the labor market and beyond. I am honored to continue serving the people of District 18A and look forward to working on proposals to help the people I represent.”

Urdahl said he encourages local citizens to in District 18A to contact his legislative office this session by calling (651) 296-4344 or by emailing rep.dean.urdahl@house.mn. Urdahl also provides periodic email updates and citizens can sign up to receive them at his official state website: www.house.mn/18a.
