Top project awaits Urdahl as Legislature convenes in St. Paul

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

ST. PAUL – The 90th Legislature convened at the Capitol Tuesday to begin the 2018 legislative session.

As chairman of the House Capital Investment Committee, Acton Township Republican Rep. Dean Urdahl will be a central figure on one of this session’s main tasks: assembling a bonding bill to fund construction projects throughout the state.

“It’s always good to be back in here doing the people’s work.” Urdahl said. “I think that we should have a short – and I hope productive – session. I look on some of the main items we’ll be considering, starting with the federal tax bill and how we should conform to it. Certainly, the capital investment bill will be addressing the infrastructure needs of the state of Minnesota. We have some things to go back and look at that need some work, the MNLARS licensing system for one. And health care will still be an issue that we’ll be looking at to make some changes if we can find ways to improve the situation.”

The Legislature is scheduled to adjourn May 21.
