Statement from Rep. Dean Urdahl re: House Republican budget proposal

Monday, March 20, 2017

ST. PAUL – House Republicans announced their budget targets Monday, headlined by $1.35 billion in tax relief for Minnesota families, $450 million in new funding for road and bridge infrastructure, and an overall budget target that ensures a sustainable level of state spending for the next biennium. Below is a statement from Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Acton Township, in response.

“The House plan places an emphasis on providing tax relief, while also supporting top priorities such as roads and bridges and education,” Urdahl said. “The finer points of each particular budget area are still coming together, but this is the starting point for what will be a period of negotiations between both legislative bodies and the governor. The hope is the finished product is something we all can agree upon and which puts our state in good position during the next biennium and beyond.”
