Minnesota Farmers Union (MFU) has announced that it has awarded their 2005-2006 “Farm and Rural Leadership award” to Rep. Dean Urdahl (R-Grove City).
MFU presented the award to Urdahl, for his strong support on issues such as ethanol, eminent domain reform and dairy issues, namely the Dairy Investment Tax Credit.
“Rep. Urdahl has been a very effective and valuable voice for farmers and rural Minnesota, especially in his service on the Agriculture Policy and Finance committees,” said MFU President Doug Peterson.
MFU worked closely with Urdahl on the near passage of the Dairy Investment Tax Credit. “Sometimes legislation like this takes a year or two to pass, and Rep. Urdahl has worked extremely hard on it,” Peterson said. “I am confident this legislation will be successful in the near future.”
In presenting the award to Urdahl, MFU takes into consideration his voting record on agricultural issues, committee work, and his work with farmer-members from his district.
