Saint Paul, Minnesota – Speaker Paul Thissen released the following statement today regarding the Minnesota Sex Offender Program.
“First and foremost this is about public safety and should not be an issue of politics or campaigns. That is why I sent a letter last month to Representative Zerwas and Mack requesting their assistance in developing a responsible solution. Both have expressed interest in working in a bipartisan fashion to address this issue. Although Representative Zerwas and Mack have yet to respond to my letter, I take them at their word they are interested in working as Democrats and Republicans to move forward in a manner that best serves the public safety of the people of Minnesota.
Bipartisan work on this issue is the best way to accomplish a result that will work for the people of Minnesota, now and into the future.”
