Legislative Update - November 13, 2020

Friday, November 13, 2020

Dear neighbors,

I hope this email finds you safe and well.

Senator Patricia Torres Ray, Representative Jim Davnie, and I are hosting a virtual town hall with Representative-Elect Emma Greenman next week. I hope you’ll join us to welcome the newest member of our District 63 team and discuss election results and what they mean for Minnesota. To participate, please visit www.facebook.com/RepJimDavnieMN on Monday, November 16 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Please feel free to email any of us with questions you might have.

New COVID-19 Measures

In response to an alarming surge in COVID-19 cases across Minnesota, Governor Walz announced new restrictions for bars, restaurants, events, and gatherings earlier this week. Starting today, bars and restaurants must end dine-in services at 10 p.m. and close counter seating and service. There will be a 10-person limit for indoor and outdoor gatherings, and all social gatherings should be limited to members of three or fewer households. Capacity limits for larger events, such as weddings and funerals, will be phased in, with a 50-person limit starting on November 27 and a 25-person limit starting on December 11. More details are available here.

This is a dangerous time for Minnesotans. Each of us needs to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 to keep Minnesotans safe and healthy. Please continue to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and get tested. You can find a COVID-19 testing site near you here.

Please feel free to email me at rep.jean.wagenius@house.mn or call me at 651-296-4200 if you have questions or comments that you’d like to share. I appreciate hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Jean Wagenius
State Representative
