Legislative Update - April 22, 2020

Wednesday, April 22, 2020

Dear neighbors,

While an in-person gathering isn’t possible at this time, I am still eager to connect with community members and hear questions, feedback, and suggestions. With that in mind, Rep. Jim Davnie, Sen. Patricia Torres Ray, and I are holding a virtual town hall next week.

Virtual Town Hall

Our virtual town hall will take place via Facebook Live on Thursday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to join us, please visit my Facebook page, linked here, when the event begins.

If you have any questions or comments that you’d like us to address during the town hall, please share them via email.

Earth Day

Today, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, reminds us that COVID-19 is not our only crisis. Scientists tell us that we must sharply curb greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 to head off the most catastrophic impacts of climate change. Our response to COVID-19 has proved that the American can-do spirit is alive and well, but it is in striking contrast to our response to climate change. Young people are stepping up to protect older Americans from a pandemic that is a far greater threat to us than to them. It’s time for older Americans to be inspired by younger ones and implement the practical, can-do changes that are needed to protect their future.

Please take care of yourself and your loved ones. If I can be of assistance, please call me at 651-296-4200 or email me at rep.jean.wagenius@house.mn.

Sincerely,

Jean Wagenius
State Representative
