ST. PAUL – The 90th Legislature convened at the Capitol Tuesday to begin the 2018 legislative session. Federal tax conformity, bonding for construction projects throughout the state and many other issues await legislative action.
Fergus Falls Republican state Rep. Bud Nornes chairs the House Higher Education Committee and is eager to begin work in the new session.
“It feels good to be back in my office, where I’m preparing for the next few months and getting back to work,” Nornes said. “During the interim we meet a lot with constituents and talk about what we could do, but now, with the session starting, that’s where we’ll be able to address those issues that we have and look forward to a successful year.”
The Legislature is scheduled to adjourn May 21.
