ST. PAUL – State Rep. Bud Nornes, R-Fergus Falls, issued the following statement regarding Friday's announcement the Legislature has reached agreement on legislation that provides $825 million in tax relief over the next three years, including more than $500 million in ongoing and permanent tax reductions.
"Tax relief is a top priority for the House majority this session and it is pleasing to reach a bipartisan compromise with our colleagues in the Senate," Nornes said. "Minnesotans suffered significant tax increases two years ago and this will help provide relief, especially to middle-class families and small businesses in Greater Minnesota that have felt the pinch."
Each chamber must approve the agreement by midnight Sunday.
