STATEMENT: Kahn Applauds U.S. House for Passing Resolution Condemning Forced Organ Harvesting

Thursday, June 30, 2016

SAINT PAUL, MN — The United States House of Representatives joined the Minnesota Senate in passing a resolution condemning forced organ harvesting by the Peoples Republic of China. State Rep. Phyllis Kahn (DFL-Minneapolis) released the following statement:

“I’m pleased that the U.S. House of Representatives has condemned the horrific practice of forced organ harvesting in China. I’ve been working for years on bringing awareness to and stopping forced organ harvesting from minorities in China. I’m saddened that House Republicans blocked the resolution I brought forward this year, but am hopeful that it will be passed next year. Together, we can put enough pressure on the Chinese to stop forced organ harvesting.”
