Neighbors and Friends,

Housing issues were front and center this week at the Capitol. During our weekly meeting of the Housing Finance and Policy Division, which I chair, I presented the Homes for All Coalition’s 2020 legislative agenda (HF 3326). We heard compelling stories about the need for permanent housing, the impact stable housing can have on a life and the success stories from those who have found a home.

Faith Leader Housing Summit

Speaker Hortman asked me to participate in a Joint Religious Legislative Coalition (JRLC) panel on how housing challenges can be addressed. Sen. Majority Leader Paul Gazelka and I discussed housing needs and the various ways the legislature can help lessen the massive shortage across the state.

Healthcare rally on Sunday

On Sunday, I joined legislators and members of the public for a Healthcare for All Rally in the Capitol rotunda to speak up and let legislators know that healthcare is a human right.

The measure will expand the income limit for MinnesotaCare in stages and includes other features that will broaden the eligibility for Minnesotans to attain health care and allow everyone to buy-in by 2025.
