SAINT PAUL, MN – House Republicans released their 2018 Bonding bill on Wednesday. The measure will be heard in a meeting of the Capital Investment committee on Friday morning. Capital Investment DFL Lead Rep. Alice Hausman, (DFL-St. Paul), issued this statement:
“The committee chair was challenged to reduce billions in requests to less than one billion. This bill does include many worthy projects and while it does include money for higher education, clean water and housing, it underinvests in all these areas. Interest rates are low, which makes long-term borrowing for community needs a smart move. As we near the end of the legislative session, I will make a compelling case for a stronger bill so Minnesotans get the best value for their dollar.”
