REP. CARLSON APPOINTED TO THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF STATE LEGISLATURES
ST. PAUL, MN – State Rep. Lyndon Carlson (DFL-Crystal-Robbinsdale-GoldenValley) has been appointed to the National Conference of State Legislatures Standing Committee on Budget and Revenue.
The National Conference of State Legislatures is a non-partisan organization that seeks to enrich state legislatures across the country, by encouraging discussions of best practice among legislators nation-wide. Standing committees meet 3 times a year to discuss, not recommend, innovative solutions to state-related issues.
“Receiving this appointment is such an honor," said Carlson. “I have devoted much of my time at the legislature finding ways to responsibly balance the state budget. I look forward to engaging in thoughtful discussion with my colleagues regarding effective budget solutions.”
Carlson’s legislative experience with state fiscal issues will make him an essential member of the Budget and Revenue Standing Committee. Under the DFL majority, Rep. Carlson served as Chair of the Finance committee and has been named DFL Committee Lead on the Ways and Means committee.
“Representative Carlson is a true leader on fiscal responsibility and balanced budgeting in Minnesota,” said DFL House Minority Leader Paul Thissen. “He will be a critical voice of reason on the NCSL at a time when states across the nation face difficult challenges.”
